On Halloween we had General Grievius, Harry Potter and a Power Ranger visit our house.

We have been enjoying this year and time is going so fast. Ben is enjoying being in the 3rd grade and is doing very well. He has started 4-H this year and will be doing archery and shotgun. Isaac is kindergarten. He is adjusting very well to staying in school all day. Last but not least Luke is also doing well. He just had his hole closed up where his trach was and we could not be happier. He is making a lot of progress. Jason and I just go back from a Desiring God conference for disabled children. It was a much needed time to get perspective on God's plan for the disabled. It was a positive excperience and glad we went. We are very blessed to have Luke in our family and actually be able to witness the improvement that Luke makes. Hoping you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

What's new?

Luke and Aunt Emily playing together. Everytime we asked Luke if he
wanted to it again he would nod his head.
Very cute!!

Luke was in another very funny mood this day and found
his Aunt Emily very halarious.
He laughed everytime he looked at her face! :)

Happy New Year!!

We made it through 2011! Jason and I had had a rough last month but both of us are much better.  The boys have been staying healthy so far. We managed to have Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve celebrated at our house. So no traveling for us. Woohoo! It has been fun having the boys at home for Christmas break but they go back to school this Wednesday. We are thankful for everything we have been given. I know that 2012 will be full of many blessings too.

Luke and I will be very busy in January. He will see, the cardiologist, ENT, pediatrition, and first eye doctor appt, swallow study, VCG test on kidey's, and surgery on testicles and circumsition, along with Speech therapy, physical therapy and hopefully developemental therapy will start too. The last report we got from his cardiologist in November was a good one. He said that the condition of his heart has improved. Luke has also started swallowing more with his tastings. I am very hopeful by summer time they will take out the trach. :)

I know a lot of times many people make new year resolutions. It always seems a little intimidating to me to make one. However, I do have small goals made for 2012. I hope that the new year is good to you and that you will be successful in accomplishing your new years resolution!

Every year in the fall when we go down to my parents house we visit the Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur Il. It has become a fun tradition and the boys love it. Luke was with us too and did great.
~

The kids enjoy picking out their pumpkins and playing in all the fun mazes they have.
~

Along with going the pumpkin patch. My parents also have an apple orchard 5 minutes from their house. Isaac and Ben wanted to see how they made apple cider so they let us in to see the big equipment they use.
They had fun on the playgrounds and of course drinking apple cider slushies. YUM!

Along with Pre-K I'm teaching Isaac a letter a week at home. My goal is to have him reading by Christmas. We'll see how it goes. Isaac is a very kinetic learner so a do a lot of projects with him. This week we are doing the letter I. We have already done letters A,B, and C. We made ice-cream in a bag and the funky orange picture is a big poster board that we poured cool-aide packets on it and the used ice cubes and ice water to make this cool orange art.

Summertime Sunshine

Summer has gone by very fast for us and we have had a good time.  We've been a very busy family but still have quality time together. Ben and Isaac both learned how to swim this summer. Well, Isaac can stay above water. ;) Luke has continued to have many appointments and continues to get better everyday. The most recent excitement that has happened with Luke is he has sat for 30 seconds all on his own! We were all mouths dropped when we saw him. His six month goal for physical therapy is to sit for one minute by February. :)  Isaac has continued to keep himself busy every minute of the day. I wish I were exaggerating but we have done all kinds of projects together and my kitchen has a three foot tall chef in it all the time. He keeps our lives hoppin and is the light in our home when things don't always look so great. Ben has enjoyed his summer playing outside and is learning to adjust to his new school.  Ben is a wonderful big brother to Luke and Isaac. I am a stay at home mom who feels like I run a small company sometimes but wouldn't trade any of it for the world. God has truly blessed our family and given us opportunity to grow in ways that we never would have imagined. Of course I wouldn't be able to run our home at all without my very hard working other half. He keeps us afloat and keeps on the right path. I hope that this blog can help those of you who want to keep up with what's going on in our lives. I will continue to update Caringbridge for those that want more specifics. I can not promise that I will be consistent in keeping up the blog but will make an effort to. God Bless!
